Single: Two by Redgrave Jones

Tickets please. Next stop LA. Well this I like a lot, it kind of reminds me (conceptually) of a James Bond theme opening credits. I can really see that. Redgrave’s lyrical style is very much that of Beth Gibbons of Portishead fame, which we can all agree isn’t a bad place to be. Redgrave is a Los Angeles based songwriter and performer drawing on influences from early 90’s alternative and trip hop like PJ Harvey, Portishead (wouldn’t you know) and Nine Inch Nails as well as an array of artists such as Billie Holiday, Etta James, and Bach to name but a few. Raw, poetic and hypnotic, is how the press release described the track - and that sums it up perfectly. Give it a go, it’s great. MI
