Single: Requiem by Koburg

Wednesday 23rd March 2022

Well March has seen a glut of excellent tunes into my inbox that it’s hard to keep up. And Requiem by the multi-talented London based Koburg is no exception. When I say multi-talented, she performs all the vocals and instruments and just put us all to shame, and while everyone else was panicking over their soda bread starter, she was teaching herself the cello and violin to add more orchestral depth to her tracks.

Requiem is multi-layered, immense, symphonic, powerful and damn good track. I’ve listened to it about five times whilst writing this and every time I can hear another layer. But back to the song and I’ll leave that up to Koburg to explain,  “Requiem is a song about how all too often, when communication has broken down irrevocably, lust is the glue which holds a toxic relationship together.” MI

New Album Fables – Part 1 is out 1 April.
