SINGLE: No U by Nick Henderson

Back on the tour bus and this time we head off to gig with Tennessee native singer-songwriter Nick Henderson and his debut single ‘No U’ out now. Drawing on musical inspiration across the board such as the Ed Sheeran, John Mayer, Dave Matthews etc. I’ve listened to this a number of times and I think it’s great, clearly a big hint of inspiration of Ed Sheeran (you may have heard of him?) but in my eyes better (sorry I have nothing personally against Ed). The emotion in Nick’s melodic vocals (and little warble flourish) is pure joy. I will let Nick explain the song, “It is really a song about the process of detachment. The idea came to me when I was reflecting in a positive manner on a past relationship, while at the same time being frustrated about the way it ended and the distance that followed. So sometimes ‘letting go’ is really just being honest with yourself about what value this person brought into your life during that time that you shared, and accepting that it can be both good and over at the same time. End of the day life is just a sequence of seasons,” says Nick. I wonder what’s next? I will watch with interest. MI
